frame it

several months ago i decided to make a quick stop into one of my favorite antique stores, and lo and behold; they were going out of business and giving everything away.  yes, i said giving.
i snagged about 15 empty antique frames, not sure what i would do with them, but knowing that they had potential.  here are some of the ways that we have used them in our little home...

although i had doubts in the moment, it was definitely worth it lugging all the frames into my car on that blustery winter's day...

warmth

winters in pennsylvania are long and my march toes needed to feel soil. today was perfect for just that - a little glimpse of spring at the start of march, and so I took the time to mop my well-worn floors with the windows open and care for my little outdoor plants. and tonight feels different, because i've breathed in this glimpse of spring, and i do think it will help me to get through the week.

spring, hurry!

Miniature Chairs

Last summer I found these two darling chairs marked "Free" at a yard sale. After thinking through a few ideas and looking for just the right way to refinish them I settled on covering them with fabric. I tore off some gross contact paper with padding and the wood underneath was salvageable. I simply added a thin layer of new padding and covered it with fabric. It was a simple project that cost next to nothing, took just a half yard of fabric and was so much fun to finish! What fun to find something with such potential at the right price!
